A commission for Rautalampi museum, my first portrait doll.
When I was asked if I would make a life size portait doll of a famous Finnish singer Kari Tapio, I had to think it carefully.
He is a well known person, and I had never made any portrait dolls and it was going to be a huge challenge.
But I like challenges, and I like to try and surpass myself, so I
accepted, and it indeed was challenging and difficult and great journey
alltogether.
The doll is sculpted over a
mannequin doll with Aves Apoxie, polymer clay and paper clay.
He has glass eyes, and the hair is artificial wig with some lamb wool
wich is partially rooted.
Eyebrows, lower eyelashes and moustache are fully rooted on
the clay.
Skin is carefully textured and shaded with heat set paints.
